I was initially just practising digital and character illustration but felt there was a little story to tell and a positive thought to share with this little chap, so I did just that. I wanted to turn this sketch into a positive children’s illustration to help kids to find a brighter side of a situation when unhappy times come in life (as they inevitably do) so that they might find a silver lining, or a positive perspective when the rain comes.
